10. Samsung i900 Omnia

HTC made a big splash in the Windows Mobile world of smartphones last year when it introduced the Touch, a smartphone that was pretty much all touchscreen and was intended to be controlled with a finger. Earlier this year HTC came up big again with the Touch Diamond, adding a VGA display and a new UI to the mix. While it might be a bit late to the party, Samsung has put forth the SGH-i900 Omnia to show, in a big way, that it, too, can compete on the Windows Mobile multimedia smartphone front. With features like a 5 megapixel autofocus camera, up to 16GB of built-in storage, a built-in GPS, and automatic screen rotation, the Omnia certainly has a lot of WinMo fans drooling. Read more…

 

9. Nokia N82

The Nokia N82 is the latest high-end imaging-focused device from the Finnish manufacturer. With a Xenon flash, a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus, and video capture at 30 frames per second, the Nokia N82 is set to replace the venerable N73 in the Nseries imaging lineup. 8. Nokia 5310 XpressMusic

Consumers these days are really spoiled for choice. Ranging from the latest huge megapixel camera phones, to music phones with audio chips and big storage, buying a phone is quite a tough choice to make. And Nokia didn't help the situation by throwing in two more models from their XpressMusic range – the slim 5310 and the sliding 5610. 7. Nokia E71

Nokia's new E71 is the company's 3rd try at the popular "BlackBerry" form factor of business smartphones. The original Nokia E61/E62 handsets had the right basic shape, but were thicker and overall bulkier than those from the competition at the time. The E61i improved on that, but still wasn't quite capable of going toe to toe with the best on offer from the likes of HTC and RIM. But with the E71, Nokia has shown that it can be a leader in this space. The E71 has a great spec sheet, a slim and solid body, and the powerful S60/Symbian system lurking inside. 5. Nokia N95 8GB

While it shares much with the Nokia N80 in terms of both design and functionality, Nokia's N95, the subject of this review, takes the capabilities of a mobile phone to a new level. On paper, at least, there appears to be little that this Finnish wonder can't do. 3. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1

The release of the Xperia X1 marks a number of firsts for Sony Ericsson. The device is the first smartphone that runs Microsoft's Windows Mobile OS for the company, and it is also the first device the company has put out that sports the sideways sliding form factor, which is quite popular among QWERTY smartphone users.
